Ewents is a U.S. company headquartered in Delaware. Our clients work directly with our U.S. entity, and our US bank account allows us to receive domestic and international ACH and wire transfers. That said, our engineering teams work remotely from Latin America, allowing us to take full advantage of the nearshore model: finding English-speaking engineers at ultra-competitive rates who work in U.S. time zone. Most of our engineers are based in Argentina, with additional team members in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, and other countries across the region. ### What are your standard hourly rates? Our rates typically range from $30-$85+ USD per hour for most roles. Before any engagement begins, we agree on the final rate with the client and include it in the Statement of Work (SOW), so pricing is always clear upfront. Please note that these rates may vary based on factors such as the required technology stack, years of experience, English proficiency, and others. For example, roles that require 10+ years of experience, niche technologies, legacy systems, emerging frameworks, or proficiency in multiple languages may fall above the standard range. ### How does Ewents support security and compliance requirements? We take security and privacy very seriously, especially because many of our clients operate in regulated industries. We have several security and compliance safeguards in place, including: We run background checks for every hire before they begin working with clients. All of our team members sign NDAs and IP agreements before accessing client data, systems, code, or other sensitive information. Our company carries $5 million USD in E&O and cyber insurance coverage, providing an additional layer of protection across our engagements. We can provide secure, Ewents-procured laptops configured to meet client-specific requirements, including EDR tools, DLP controls, secure virtual machines, access restrictions, and other endpoint security measures. Our team includes certified and experienced engineers who have worked with frameworks such as HIPAA, ISO 27001, GDPR, FedRAMP, SOC 2, NIST, PCI DSS, and other leading security and compliance standards. Our company has a well-established Trust and compliance program that outlines our internal policies and controls around security, privacy, access management, data handling, confidentiality, vendor management, and compliance requirements. In addition, we have in-house fractional CISOs and Senior GRC Analysts who can help scope the security, privacy, and compliance requirements of each engagement, including secure onboarding procedures, device policies, access controls, security reviews, and internal compliance processes. Currently, we are also pursuing SOC 2 certification as part of our continued investment in strengthening our internal security controls. ### Do your engineers use AI when building and deploying software? Yes. Many of our engineers use AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and others to increase productivity and speed up tasks such as analyzing existing code, migrating between frameworks, writing tests, improving documentation, and supporting day-to-day development workflows. However, our engineers review and validate every AI-generated output. Ultimately, every one of our team members remains responsible for understanding the problem, validating inputs and outputs, reviewing the code, testing functionality, and making sure the final implementation meets the client’s quality, security, and technical standards. We also adapt our use of AI to each client’s internal policies. If your organization restricts certain tools, models, data types, or development environments, our team can work within those requirements. For organizations that need more guidance on introducing AI into the software development lifecycle, our security team can help define an AI governance approach for coding assistants, AI agents, and other AI-enabled development tools. This can include access controls, approved-use policies, data handling requirements, human oversight, and alignment with frameworks such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO 42001, and your existing security and compliance standards. ### How many people can I hire in the staff augmentation model? As many as you want. Most of our clients typically start with a few hires and eventually ramp up to fully managed teams of 5–6 people. We offer flexible engagements and require only 30 days' notice to offboard staff, so you can ramp up or scale down the team based on your budget, workload, and milestones. ### Can Ewents execute fixed-price projects? Yes. Ewents also works on fixed-price projects, especially when the budget is already defined, and we can agree on the scope, deliverables, timeline, and acceptance criteria upfront. In our experience, fixed-price engagements work particularly well for PoCs, assessments, and migrations that have a clear scope. For projects where requirements are likely to evolve or change frequently, a dedicated team or time-and-materials model usually provides more flexibility. ### Can we interview the engineers using our own HR process? Of course. If you already have your own vetting process, we can adapt to it and coordinate the recruiting process around your requirements. Alternatively, if you choose to follow our standard vetting process, we typically conduct two interview rounds before presenting candidates: Pre-screening interview focused on communication, English proficiency, soft skills, professional experience, and culture fit. Technical interview led by our engineering team to evaluate technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and proficiency in the technologies required for the role. Once we send you the strongest candidates, your team can add as many interviews, technical assessments, or internal approval steps as needed. We conduct background checks as part of our security and onboarding process before an engineer starts working on the engagement. ### What is the general turnaround time when requesting a Mid-level or Senior engineer? Our average turnaround time to staff team members is 1 to 3 weeks from the moment we receive your request. Timelines may vary slightly based on availability, hourly rates, project length, and other requirements. ### What tech stack do you work with? We can adapt to any technology stack, architecture, or technical requirement based on what your company already uses. We are technology-agnostic and focus on finding the right engineers for the problem rather than pushing a specific set of tools. That said, we mostly work with React, Angular, .NET/C#, Java, Node.js, Python, SQL, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake, and embedded software (firmware), including Linux and C++. Our teams support clients across six core service areas: Secure Software Development: security-focused development across frontend, backend, modernization, and application development. Embedded Software Development: firmware, RTOS, Embedded Linux, hardware integration, connectivity, IoT, and Edge AI. AI & Data Engineering: working on ETL pipelines, data platforms, data quality, governance, and enterprise AI implementations. Cloud Engineering: involving infrastructure, migrations, modernization, DevOps, DevSecOps, and cloud security across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Cybersecurity: vulnerability management, GRC, fractional CISO services, SOC support, and compliance engineering. QA & Software Testing: covering manual QA, SDET, QA automation, software testing, and reliability engineering.
